Information
Rain, Shine or Snow GRIZFEST
will go on! The festival is always held on the August long weekend,
the first weekend in August.
Let us help you with what to expect and what to bring to GRIZFEST.
The festival is held in the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School Field just
below the downtown core and directly off Southgate. The festival
is within walking distance of the main street, restaurants and hotels. GRIZFEST
is a festival with a diverse music selection, where everyone will
find something to suit his or her listening pleasure.
Festival Etiquette
- Lawn Chair Etiquette - Place taller chairs to the back of
the festival grounds leaving the front open for people on blankets
and low back chairs.
- Tarp/Blanket - Please limit the size of your blanket
to make room for other patrons at the front of the grounds. All
personal belongings must be removed at the end of each day from the
site. GRIZFEST is not responsible
for articles left behind.
- Umbrellas - Please do not use large umbrellas,
tarps, etc that will block the view of people behind you.
- Please stay
seated - do not stand in front of the stage or in front of people who
are seated. Be courteous and stay either to the side of the
grounds or at the back of the grounds where there are no chairs.
- No recording
devices please.
- No bicycles or skateboards allowed on the site.
- Do not leave children
unattended.
- No pets allowed on the grounds.
- No alcohol is permitted - on the site
outside the designated beer gardens area. Alcohol
must be purchased within the beer gardens enclosure.
Accessories
Items to make the festival more enjoyable are: sunscreen, visor or cap, mosquito
repellent, umbrella, individual rain gear, tarp/blanket, low back chair,
tissues, band-aids, hot/cold drinks.
Apparel
We recommend that you come prepared for all kinds of weather. Dress
in layers and this way you can take off/put on clothing to stay comfortable. Warm
clothing is a must for the evenings and wet weather clothes in case of rain.
Amenities & Site Information
- First Aid - First Aid will be available on site at the entry
gate.
- Toilets - there are no public washroom facilities available on site
(port-a-potties only). Public washroom facilities are available
at the Community Centre (located next to the TRSS school field).
- Telephones - there are no phones available on site. The closest
public phone is located in the Community Centre.
- Banks/Money Machines - the bank is located downtown an easy walk
from the festival site. A bank machine is also available at Tags
two blocks from the festival site.
- Lost and Found - check at the entry
gate for lost articles that may have been turned in.
- Clean up the GRIZFEST Grounds - we appreciate your help in keeping
the grounds free of litter. Please use the garbage containers
on the grounds.
- Smoker - Please do not throw your cigarette butts on the ground. Pinch
and pocket cigarette butts. Help keep the grounds clean.
