Festival Information

Rain, Shine or Snow GRIZFEST will go on!  The festival is always held on the August long weekend, the first weekend in August.

Let us help you with what to expect and what to bring to GRIZFEST.

The festival is held in the Tumbler Ridge Secondary School Field just below the downtown core and directly off Southgate.  The festival is within walking distance of the main street, restaurants and hotels.  GRIZFEST is a festival with a diverse music selection, where everyone will find something to suit his or her listening pleasure.

Festival Etiquette

  • Lawn Chair Etiquette - Place taller chairs to the back of the festival grounds leaving the front open for people on blankets and low back chairs.
  • Tarp/Blanket - Please limit the size of your blanket to make room for other patrons at the front of the grounds.  All personal belongings must be removed at the end of each day from the site.  GRIZFEST is not responsible for articles left behind.
  • Umbrellas - Please do not use large umbrellas, tarps, etc that will block the view of people behind you.
  • Please stay seated - do not stand in front of the stage or in front of people who are seated.  Be courteous and stay either to the side of the grounds or at the back of the grounds where there are no chairs.
  • No recording devices please.
  • No bicycles or skateboards allowed on the site.
  • Do not leave children unattended.
  • No pets allowed on the grounds.
  • No alcohol is permitted - on the site outside the designated beer gardens area.  Alcohol must be purchased within the beer gardens enclosure.

Accessories

Items to make the festival more enjoyable are: sunscreen, visor or cap, mosquito repellent, umbrella, individual rain gear, tarp/blanket, low back chair, tissues, band-aids, hot/cold drinks.

We recommend that you come prepared for all kinds of weather.   Dress in layers and this way you can take off/put on clothing to stay comfortable.   Warm clothing is a must for the evenings and wet weather clothes in case of rain.
